Data Migration process in Salesforce projects requires lot of sincere effort and proper planning to get data to be uploaded correctly in Salesforce Instance.
The article reviews commonly available data migration tools.
The following tools are reviewed:

TOOL 1: APEX DATA LOADER

Apex Data Loader is a free migration tool that is used universally by Admins, Developers, Consultants to migrate data in Salesforce Instance.
Application needs to be downloaded locally to your desktop.

USER INTERFACE OF THE TOOL IS QUITE SIMPLE TO INTERACT WITH DATA.

  1. INSERT :- Gives ability to insert new records in Salesforce.
  2. UPDATE:-We can make changes to existing records inside Salesforce.

  1. Open Apex Data Loader Application
  2. Enter Salesforce Credentials of your org.
  3. After logging in the Org, we need to select the object on which we need to perform our operation.
  4. .Select operation that you would like to perform.
  5. Mapping of object fields, which can be done either through automap or manually
  6. Perform the selected DML operation and we will have data loaded into the system.

Jitterbit is a data migration tool that allows Salesforce admins to automate Export and Import of data between other databases and Salesforce orgs.

Jitterbit comes handy for importing leads information. Exporting sales information for business intelligence or updating account and contact information from other database sources.

TOOL 4:- FORCE.COM EXCEL CONNECTOR

Force.com excel connector allows users to log into your Salesforce org, create simple queries and allows data to create, edit and delete in bulk.
Once the data is in Excel, we can edit, delete or add new records and push those changes back to Salesforce.
