Keeping your internal teams informed about new LinkedIn posts is crucial for improving communication, strengthening brand alignment, and increasing overall engagement. However, manually copying and sharing every post to Slack can be repetitive and time-consuming.
This detailed guide explains how to automate the entire process using Zapier so that every new LinkedIn post automatically triggers a Slack message — without any manual effort.
Step 1: Create an RSS Feed for Your LinkedIn Company Page
Since LinkedIn does not provide a direct Zapier trigger for company page posts, we use an external tool — RSS.app — to create an RSS feed that Zapier can read.
Follow these steps:
- Open RSS.app
Go to https://rss.app in your browser. - Log In or Create an Account
You’ll need to sign in. If it’s your first time, create a free account. - Create a New Feed
Once logged in, click Create New Feed.
This is where you will generate a custom RSS feed based on your LinkedIn company page. -
Paste Your LinkedIn Page URL
Copy your LinkedIn company page URL from your browser’s address bar and paste it into the feed creation field.
Example:
https://www.linkedin.com/company/your-company-name/
-
Generate the Feed
Click Save or Create Feed.RSS.app will scan your LinkedIn page and build an RSS feed out of the public posts on that page.
-
Copy the XML RSS Feed URL
Once the feed is generated, RSS.app provides an XML feed link such as:
https://rss.app/feeds/1234567890.xml
-
Paste your linkedin Url here
Then click on Save my feed this will generate a xm url.
Step 2: Create a Zap in Zapier
Zapier is the automation tool that monitors the RSS feed and sends messages to Slack.
Steps:
- Log In to Zapier
Go to https://zapier.com and log in. - Create a New Zap
Click Create Zap from the dashboard. - Name Your Zap
Give your automation an identifiable name, such as:
“LinkedIn Post → Slack Notification”
Step 3: Configure the Trigger (RSS Feed)
This section tells Zapier when to start the automation.
- Select Trigger App: RSS by Zapier
Use the search bar to find RSS by Zapier and select it. - Choose the Trigger Event
Select New Item in Feed.
This means Zapier will run whenever a new post appears in your RSS feed. - Paste the RSS Feed URL
In the field provided, paste the XML feed URL you copied from RSS.app. - Test the Trigger
Click Test Trigger.
Zapier will pull sample posts from the RSS feed to confirm the setup is working.
If the test is successful, move on to the next step.
Step 4: Configure the Slack Action
Now that Zapier knows when to trigger, you must tell it what to do — post a message in Slack.
- Add an Action
Click + Add Action. - Select the Slack App
Search for Slack and click on it. - Choose the Action Event
Select Send Channel Message. - Connect Your Slack Workspace
Zapier will ask for permission to post messages in your Slack workspace. Click Connect, then select the workspace, and allow access. - Choose the Slack Channel
Pick the Slack channel where you want LinkedIn post updates to appear. For example: #marketing, #announcements, or #all-employees. - Choose the Slack Channel
Pick the Slack channel where you want LinkedIn post updates to appear. For example: #marketing, #announcements, or #all-employees. -
Format Your Slack Message
Use Zapier’s dynamic fields from the RSS feed, such as Title, Link, and Description.
Step 5: Publish the Zap
Once you're satisfied with your test:
- Click Publish Zap.
- Turn the Zap ON.
From this point forward, Zapier will automatically detect every new LinkedIn company post and instantly notify your Slack channel — without any manual work.
Conclusion
Automating your LinkedIn-to-Slack workflow ensures your entire organization stays updated on new company posts without requiring manual effort. This leads to:
- Faster internal communication
- Higher employee engagement on LinkedIn posts
- Better alignment across marketing, HR, and leadership teams
